I grew up just south of the Adirondacks. We went tent camping and canoeing when I was younger. I never really saw an “ocean beach” until I was an adult. So I guess I’m biased. I love the mountains. A walk in the woods is it for me. I don’t need to sit on the sand in the sun (too many people usually!) though I do love the sound of the waves, but I will sit for hours on a rock near a waterfall in the woods. Some of our best adventures have been on hikes in the woods - also one of my not-so-fun times, when I broke my arm in 2017 on a waterfall hike that barely made it out of the parking lot. Nevertheless, you’ll find our travels often have a hike here or there, with a waterfall, some rhododendron, and very few people… if you have a suggestion for a hike we need to do or a waterfall that I must see, please let me know!
