It’s kind of cool to be a part of a profession that you can share and people say, “Oh, I always wondered how you did that!”
The first week in February over the past few years has been reserved by the practitioners of our profession for daily outreach – every day there’s a suggested topic for posting. What do you like best about the profession, what was your coolest assignment, where have you traveled in the work, et cetera.
It’s about engagement. So many people are looking for something NEW – whether it’s someone who is taking on a second career or someone who’s not sure that a four-year college track is right for them.
Court reporting and captioning call to many aspirants with diverse skill sets and all can thrive if they put their minds to it!
Someone with music skills? Awesome – your hand/eye/ear coordination will be a great asset. If you’re a vocalist, your ability to breathe from your diaphragm and fully form your syllables could be helpful as a voice writer.
Are you a game? Do you love computers? Well, great! Our profession relies on some pretty high-end technology and we’re always trying to ‘beat’ the computer on our translation stats.
Do you love the English language, punctuation, and vocabulary in general? Come on down, we’ve got you covered! From esoteric homophones to Latin terms, you’ll get an earful!
Whether you’re interested in working in the courtroom, in the deposition suite, at an educational, civic, or clerical venue, this profession has the potential to create an outstanding opportunity.
We’d love to have you join us!
